Rocksmith usb guitar adapter driver windows 10

Instead of showing up as Real Tone Cable in Control panel, it now shows as USB Audio Device.

As I said, I uninstalled the driver and when I plug it in, Windows doesn't attempt to install it at all. It makes the sound of a device being plugged in, but that's it. I've tried the USB 2.0 on the back and the USB 3.0 on the front, to no avail. Is the cable pluged directly in to the PC? No hub or anything? My roommate has a very similar build running 8 and had 0 problems I'm hoping to find someone with a similar issue who managed to fix it. This particular issue doesn't seem to be common, though.
